Important Update from New Mexico Copper: Proposed Privatization to Advance the Copper Flat Project
We’re taking a major step forward to strengthen the future of the Copper Flat Project and our long-term commitment to Sierra County.
Our parent company, The Mac Resources Group, has announced a proposed privatization:
This follows a detailed, independent valuation process. A Special Committee of the Board has recommended the transaction to the full Board, concluding it is the best path forward for the company and the Copper Flat Project.
Why this matters:
Privatization will simplify the company’s structure and better position us to raise the funding needed to advance Copper Flat into development.
Why Copper Flat matters:
Copper is a critical mineral for America’s energy future. It’s vital to strengthening our electric grid, supporting renewable energy, and powering high-demand industries like artificial intelligence.
We remain fully committed to responsibly developing Copper Flat, creating good local jobs, and delivering long-term benefits to Sierra County and New Mexico.
We understand this is a significant step, and we’re here to listen, engage, and keep our community informed throughout the process.
